Bryan Keith Smith

Bryan’s watercolor work is visually astounding! Almost photographic, the scenes he depicts of Carolina riverbeds, farms, coasts, and rock crevasses are reflections on the abundance of natural beauty that surrounds us. As a 19 year old, living in Virginia Beach, Bryan immersed himself in all aspects of art production. His work was so well-received that he attempted to open his own gallery in 1984. Bryan settled in St. Augustine, Florida and his watercolor paintings were the focal point of the gallery. In 1990, he migrated to western North Carolina and has since continued to hone his skills as an individual, professional artist. The variety of natural landscapes in the Southeast lends itself to his subject matter with their graceful, simple scenery. Realism is his style, but the articulate imagination in his work is what keeps drawing collectors (and newcomers) to his watercolors. Bryan’s artistic pursuits are an encounter with passion; One glimpse of his work and viewers immediately share this passion for the natural beauty of the region and his pursuit of excellence in his art.
