North Carolina Artist Richard Oversmith creates "en plein air," capturing the beauty of Western North Carolina. In his studio, he creates still lifes which range from the classical to the imaginative. His lifelong study of past masters, the influence of contemporary painters he admires, and elements that have evolved from deep within all make up his personal style. His work shows the rich stoke of the brush, using color, edges, value and drawing to express his voice and vision.
